In the elementary years, the curriculuar program shifts focus from the development of the essential skills learned in primary school to an emphasis on the application of skills. Students at this level begin to transtition from learning to read to reading to learn. With a more expanded vocabulary, students use their imaginations to write creatively. Students learn the conventions of the English language through a comprehensive grammar program and perfect their cursive handwriting. The elementary curriculum encourages students to aquire a deeper understanding of global and local communities as well as apply their knowledge of energy and natural Earth processes.
