Since the fall of 2010, PJPII has operated with the assistance of an Advisory Council comprised of school parents, community members, and friends of Catholic education. The purpose of an Advisory Council was to support the work of the Principal. Advisory Council members were charged with doing research, engaging in discussion, and making recommendations to assist the principal in making informed decisions which support and strengthen the school.
In the fall of 2016, the Advisory Council voted to become a Board of Limited Jurisdiction. This decision was made after several discussions, as well as, an informational workshop and training session conducted by the Philadelphia Archdiocesan Office of Catholic Education.
Board duties include Advancement and Strategic Planning, Financial Oversight, Board Development and Oversight, and Principal Selection and Evaluation.
